Robert was a very particular man . It is said that he would go to the stables and after the men had prepared the horses for the day, he would rub a silk hankerchief over them to see that they were done correctly. Robert was a tailor by trade and he made all the boys clothes on a hand machine . This machine was passed on to one of his great grandsons.
My father wrote a book about Parkside Most family members of my generation would have a copy

Grandfather Ernie and Grandmother Mary

I have many memories of growing up at Parkside. Both my brother Tom and I were born there. My brother Greg was born at Romsey. We had many family days and my Grandfather Tom would have a birthday party each year and all his brothers and sisters who were able would come. The men would play cards and the Ladies sit and Knit or do other things.
